What’s the Point of Another Website?

"I HAVE A DREAM..."

For a long time I have wondered how we as people committed to the 'Cause of Christian Education' could use the internet to share resources and ideas and importantly network together. At Timaru Christian School we have four classrooms with each teacher teaching multiple year levels and although we are committed to each other and support each other there isn't the networking/collegial aspect that develops with teachers who are teaching at the same level...no-one to really share resources with, compare reading programmes and discuss management techniques. The same can be said for me as the Principal, and those involved in governance and proprietorship.

SO...this is my attempt to provide the forum in order for this to happen. There are different layers to this website and more can be added if needed.

HOW THE WEBSITE IS DESIGNED TO WORK...
The Primary, Secondary and ECE sections (found at the 'Top Menu') are for teachers in the respective sectors of education. I pray this website will by a tool for teachers to share ideas [Forum], resources/plans/charts etc [Documents] share ideas/reflections [Share an article] and network together [Instant Messages].

The Principals section is much the same as the teacher sections. However I hope to also have commentary on changes in legislation and a comprehensive section for the issues which are current, such as the NZC and National Standards. I have asked some well respected leaders in this area to regularly contribute thoughts, ideas and professional development material.

Both the BoT and Proprietors sections of the website are for sharing resources and advice but most importantly I pray the respective sections will be used for commentary on current legislative requirements from a Christian Educators perspective with leaders in respective fields providing direction for others.

All registered users of the website can upload/download documents, participate in forums, publish articles, comment on articles, add events to the calendar, instant message other users, add internet links and suggest new features.

IMPORTANT NOTES...
Please be sure to 'post' to the correct section and category when publishing - You will see what I mean when you try...
All uploads are limited to 4megs
Any inappropriate posts and you will be banned from posting

Lastly, as this site goes 'Live' you will notice there is little information on it. This site is not about what I know, it is a community thing, so please start publishing those articles, uploading resources and 'networking'.
